RE: Too long a domain name

Just to make things clear, I posted earlier in this thread that the problem in
my case is actually in the Irix 6.4 resolver. No tools that use the resolver
are able to resolve the uk domain name (telnet, ping, etc.). DNS tools -
which query servers directly without benefit of the system resolver - work
just fine. I imagine dnsserver uses the system resolver. If I override
resolv.conf and specify nameservers to use, will this sidestep the Irix
resolver?
