It is a Linux kernel problem, not a Squid problem. If you read the Intel
EtherExpress driver mailinglist you will discover that many people have
had such problems, and some proposals on workarounds that may work.
I'd recommend you to try the workarounds, contact the maintainer of the
Intel EtherExpress linux driver and if all fail, switch to another
network card model.
