Accelerated webserver and proxy server. Is it possible?

Is it possible for squid to allow its proxy users access to websites it is
accelerating? If so, how do you avoid a forwarding loop?

I am using virtual hosts with the web accelerator and the proxy server
bound to different interfaces.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
