I'm not sure why you are seeing a crash there. I will look into that. The ncsa_auth program is incorrectly configured. (See the
squid FAQ). The unsupported or unconfigued message means that you have either a) not installed a ntlm_helper in your squid.conf, or
you haven't compiled in ntlm support for the new version of squid.

Do you see any error messages on startup if you check the cache.log or run squid -Nd1
