Squid has way too many obscure features compared to most commercial
alternatives ;-)
With Squid you get lots of features, access to the source if you need to
make any changes or make use of other peoples changes, access to
squid-users for 24*7*365 support (with no guarantees however), but not
the best performance there is to get (work is being done at improving
that).
