We have two squid servers, currently identically configured. Both are
P-III/750 512MB RAM/9gig drives with roughly 4.5gig cache space permitted.
Both are running Solaris 8/x86 and no other applications except squid 2.3.
Both machines have front-door interfaces on a public network, to be
accessed by our students. They also have interfaces on a private,
non-routable network that we can use for backups, ICP, etc.
Currently, we're distributing the load over these two via round-robin DNS.
Does anyone have any pointers on how these two (with potentially more
later if the need arises) should be paired for best efficiency?
Thanks!
