I have not tried it yet, but the killer app for me is that some switches
claim to load balance based on URL. ("Layer 7"). It seems to me that this
could be a better way of making use of multiple Squid caches in high traffic
environments.
Using "ordinary" L4 hashing or WCCP seems to be oriented towards using a
commercial cache box.
My observations only.
