In which context? (the word basket is not mentioned anywhere in the
sources).

Are you perhaps thinking about "bucket"? If so it is most likely hash
buckets or delay pool buckets. A bucket is a place where a software puts
things grouped together (i.e. a hash bucket) or an amount which cannot
get higher than a maximum value (the bucket overflows, spilling the
excess content).
