Hi People,
this one is a bit off the wall I know...
I'm running a farm of five squids - I'd like to collect all their logs into
one location rather than many locations. At present I have a cron job that
rotates the logs and ftps them to a central server - but its ugly. I have
tried using tail -f access.log | logger , but that drops packets (good old
UDP) when the traffic is high (we regularly exceed 60 requests/s)..
It would be nice if squid would support logging directly, then I could
install something like syslog-ng and simply redirect the squid logging via
TCP to a central server... Or better still if Squid could open a TCP
channel itself for logging...
Cheers,
Bret
