Hi all, me again :-)
Just want to make sure nobody thinks it's the well-known IE folder view
problem here!
I noticed the problem below with the IE folder view DISABLED, thus with
the squid-generated FTP directory tree!
Should someone not be able to reproduce the problem described below
(read: still works with IE), please tell me your Squid version number
and your FTP-related settings in squid.conf.
Eternal thanks in advance ;)
Eric
------------
Try this:
1. Open IE5 using Squid (2.3 Stable2 here) as FTP proxy >>> with IE
folder view (FTP) disabled <<<
2. Enter a FTP URL to a site using Microsoft FTP Service 5.0, i.e.
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com or ftp://ftp.asuscom.de - the Squid-generated
FTP directory tree should appear normally. Nothing special so far.
3. Now click on a listed subdirectory, i.e. "bussys" - ..... nothing,
nada. Just a blank screen after some longer timeout, no error messages,
just a normal looking access.log entry created after the timeout.
Try the same now using Netscape - works fine as usual!
Again, no problem neither using IE with other FTP servers than Microsoft
FTP Service 5.0!
Can anyone reproduce this phenomenon in his environment?
What's going on here? Any remedies?
