Now it works perfectly... Thank everybody for the help anyway!

Thank you Jurgen, I tried... And it's working perfectly! So I guess the
problem comes from somewhere else... Anyone having any clue?

problem too

hy ,

To try iff your authentication program (NCSA) works

run it in the console with your password file.
the program normaly listens for input.

now try to type on one line a combination of a username with his
password(clear text) the username and password are seperated with a space.

If you give a good combination the program should respond 'OK' if not
correct 'ERR'

So if you get een 'ERR' answer on a correct username password, then
probably your password file is in the wrong format.
