I've gone as far as to use the same modem and line along with ISP account
with both ISA and Squid. The proxies are sitting side by side, connected to
the clients at 100MBps. There is NO difference in the bandwidth either one
received. In fact, (very generalized) but the speed at which the RD (receive
data) lights flash on the modems (USR 56K Ext) are also identical.

Its just the client end at which the difference is apparent. Large downloads
through Squid and ISA go at the same speed (as long as they're not coming
from the cache!)
