[squid-users] redirecting https accesses?

Folks,
        I am trying to get a system set up so that we can redirect
accesses to some of our web servers off to an notice page when they
are down for maintenance. I have set up squirm and that looks to work
fine for a simple http access - the client gets redirected just fine.
When I try to do this for a https access it seems that squirm is not
doing it's job. I am pretty sure I have the squirm entry right, the
regex is not convoluted. Will this work at all? I have a feeling
that https is not passed to the redirector... is that true?
