I last days from 19:00 to about 22:00 i have messages lot messages like this:

Feb 4 19:09:59 platon squid[1413]: WARNING! Your cache is running out of filedescriptors
Feb 4 19:36:42 platon squid[1413]: WARNING! Your cache is running out of filedescriptors
Feb 4 19:44:20 platon squid[1413]: WARNING! Your cache is running out of filedescriptors
Feb 4 20:26:52 platon squid[1413]: WARNING! Your cache is running out of filedescriptors
[...]
Feb 5 21:45:41 platon squid[4215]: WARNING! Your cache is running out of filedescriptors
Feb 5 21:45:57 platon squid[4215]: WARNING! Your cache is running out of filedescriptors
Feb 5 21:47:53 platon squid[4215]: WARNING! Your cache is running out of filedescriptors

I increase FD from default 256 to 1024 but this not help.

I check in cachemanager, and found lot of:

  37 Socket 0 2017* 14871 213.77.79.159.1428 Waiting for next request
  38 Socket 0 13903* 5488 213.77.79.159.1423 Waiting for next request
  39 Socket 0 339* 293 192.168.3.46.1406 Waiting for next request

maximum sock number is 712

and as You see, there are lot of free space beetwen used sockets
So... why squid tells that cache is running out of FD ???

I use lattest 2.5stable1 dailysnapshot- form 030203
