[squid-users] What happens when a cache_dir fails?

If I have multiple cache_dirs on separate drives, and one drive fails,
so I edit squid.conf to remove that cache_dir, how are the others
affected? Will I be able to continue using the cached objects in the
other cache_dirs, or do I have to rebuild the cache from scratch?
