We are also planning on upgrading from 2.6 SPARC to 8. Is it better to
just run the 2.6 binary on 8 or is it better to rebuild/compile it on 8?
What are the best file system mount options to use under 8? Obviously
noatime, any others? We don't really care about the integrity of the
cache so we weren't planning on using journalling. Should we still use
fastfs on 8 like we currently do with 2.6? We have a test squid cache
(2.2STABLE5) setup on 8 now and every once in awhile get the following
text on the top of the returned web page:
K Server: Microsoft-IIS/4.0 Date: Fri, 12 Jan 2001 21:05:05 GMT HTTP/1.0
200 OK Server: Microsoft-IIS/4.0 Date: Fri, 12 Jan 2001 21:05:09 GMT
Content-Length: 58750 Content-Type: text/html Age: 0 X-Cache: MISS from
Iserv1 X-Cache-Lookup: MISS from Iserv1:9119 Proxy-Connection:
keep-alive
Any ideas as to where this message is coming from? Iserv1 is our test
squid cache on Solaris 8 and we use port 9119 to access it rather that
the standard squid port.
Thanks.
