i should have searched the squid-users archive before posting. :-)

this topic has already been discussed earlier and it is not possible
to have the nt challenge/response authentication through <any>
proxy.

and it DID complain to the server admin :-)

Complain to the server admins.
Complaining with Microsoft would feel good too, but don't expect
any sympathy from them.
