Right, now I have

 ../bin/squid -v
Squid Cache: Version 2.5-DEVEL
configure options: --enable-ntlm-auth
--enable-ntlm-auth-helpers=fakeauth

I have gone into squid.conf and uncommented the following lines :

auth_param ntlm program /usr/local/squid/bin/ntlm_auth
auth_param ntlm children 5
auth_param ntlm max_challenge_reuses 0
auth_param ntlm max_challenge_lifetime 2 minutes

then do a

#./squid -k reconfigure
2001/11/15 16:44:04| Parsing Config File: Unknown authentication scheme
'ntlm'.
2001/11/15 16:44:04| Parsing Config File: Unknown authentication scheme

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks again.
